At this time, every year, a locally-owned company, Lamp Company will place in their display window a replica of the infamous Leg Lamp from A Christmas Story. This movie has been a longstanding tradition of joy and laughter in my family and the root of many inside jokes since its release in 1983.
I hadn’t yet driven past this store – or bothered to notice it – this season until this morning. I was actually inspired to flip a U-ie and pull into their empty parking lot so I could take pictures. I feel such delight when this particular display shows up and feel that all seems to be a little more right with the world when it does.
