You watch tv shows like “America’s Funniest Home Videos” and cannot understand why everyone is laughing about being witness to videos of people slamming their faces into the asphalt or falling off their bikes and straddling the cross bar with obvious pain. For you, your stomach actually turns, your heart squeezes, and your body aches when you witness these videos. Sometimes you even find yourself with tears in your eyes – and they’re NOT tears from laughing so hard.
People may not understand your reasons for not laughing or refusing to watch or listen to these shows. It’s not for them to accommodate you. Do yourself a favor and be accountable for the fact that you feel that pain and stop subjecting yourself to it.
