Beyond the pane of glass
Silent, Drifting Down
The snow kisses the sky
Kisses the air
Kisses the ground
Shielding in white
The green of autumn grass
The blanket of gold and orange
Secreted beneath
Insulating cold warmth
The silence filters into my life
Where my walls
My protectors
My past
My yearnings
My memories
My knowledge of who I am
All of it and all of me
Silent, Drifting down
And slowly out
To make way for the new
Never the same
Never the old
Never to return to the patterns
That were a kaleidoscope
Meshing pain and joy
Until I did not know where one
Ended
And where one
Began
I am new
Alive
And my breath lifts on
Silent, Drifting wings
