I was asked, “Angie, what are you grateful for?”
I smiled, thinking about all the “Gratitude for day # of day #” posts I have been seeing around Facebook and all the gratitude that has been filling my newsfeed. It’s November – a month of being thankful. Just like October is a month to focus on boobies and December is a month to direct your attention to giving and June, July, and August are months that are dedicated to… well… partying cuz it’s SUMMER, baby!
My heart overflows with gratitude every day – not just November 1-30 – because I know the power of gratitude. It has been the tool that I turn to, in my deepest, darkest times, to remind me of the divinity within me, the grace of forgiveness, and the brilliance of being alive. Gratitude journaling, focusing on all of my blessings, and being willing to recognize one-by-one, the things that bring me joy is an empowering tool of transformation. Choosing to look for my blessings makes it so I am filling my heart, mind, eyes, and senses with all the miracles of my life. This brings into my awareness all that is already there and then creates a magnetic force, drawing in more for which I am grateful.
In my darkest moments, when I was holding on by the very edge of my fingernails, dangling dangerously over the dark abyss and knowing that I couldn’t hold on much longer, I was drawn to the power of gratitude. Gratitude is one of the highest vibrations of healing – second only to Love. It has the power to shift perspectives, heal wounds, lift spirits, raise vibrations, and empower. Being grateful brings you out of your ego and into your divine nature, which aligns you with your Purpose and supports you in bringing forth your message in clear, vibrant ways.
I choose to see the delight of motherhood, the joys of living, the creative wildness of my work, the connection with loved ones, the warm home and bed I sleep in, the internet, this laptop, my love of music and my ability to hear it, my talent for healing and for art, my family, my dear friends, my community, my Tribe, my innate magic, God, freedom, money… all of this (and so much more) I am grateful for, appreciating its presence in my life. I choose to appreciate that which I am grateful for so that I am actively expressing it and adding value to it, thereby increasing the generative aspect of gratitude.
Gratitude continually gives back to you, expanding your aliveness, intensifying your joy, multiplying your abundance, strengthening your health. As it shifts your attention to all that you are and all that you have, it clarifies it and than clears the road ahead of you for more to come in.
So on this day, I invite you to ask yourself, “What AM I grateful for?” and then allow your blessings to come to mind. Celebrate them by speaking them aloud or writing them down so that you spend time focusing on all that you are and all that you have been given. And then, do it tomorrow and the next day and the next until it becomes a habit and you realize you are living Gratitude. You will be AMAZED by the shift!

Thanks for emphasizing this shift in perspective – I am starting to practice being grateful right now.
I would love to hear how that goes for you, Kimba.
A beautiful reminder to all about the power of gratitude.
This detailed information was new to me, and so very powerful: “Gratitude is one of the highest vibrations of healing – second only to Love. It has the power to shift perspectives, heal wounds, lift spirits, raise vibrations, and empower. Being grateful brings you out of your ego and into your divine nature, which aligns you with your Purpose and supports you in bringing forth your message in clear, vibrant ways.”
I am adding daily gratitude to my practice and look forward to seeing what shifts and what shows up as a result.
OOOOOHHHHH! Delicious, Donna. I look forward to hearing what you experience.
